The Toughest Enemy Is Humidity

暑い日が続きます。暑いのもそうなんですが、湿度がやっかいすぎて困ります。
ただこんな蒸し暑い日本の気候にも慣れてきました。アメリカから帰ってきて１０日ほど経ちますが、自分では以外に早く慣れてきたなあという感じです。
これは昔から言われていることなんですが、やっぱりアメリカ西海岸は湿気が低いおかげで、日中でも日陰に入ると風邪が気持ちよかったりします。夜も日中に比べると気温はぐっと下がるので窓を開けると心地よい夜を過ごせます。

自分で実際に行くまでは、そんな変わるはずないと思ってたんですけど・・・変わるもんですねえ笑

さて、授業が終わってしまったので、アップロードするものを探すのにもひと手間です。
アメリカに行く前に現像・プリントをしたフィルムがあったんですが、スキャナがないので、デジタル化ができません。フィルムカメラっていのは手間が多くかかります。

そう！この前雑誌に載ってたおもしろい椅子を紹介します。
アメリカの家具メーカーでエメコというのがあります。
最近だと映画「Sex and the City」の中で彼らの製品の一つ「Navy1006」が使われて話題になっているらしい。元々は第二次世界大戦中に海軍の駆逐艦用の椅子を製造していたとか。（だから商品名にNavyがついてるのか。）
そして、そのエメコがコカ・コーラとNavy1006をモデルにして「111Navy Chair」という椅子を新しく開発した。商品名についている111というのは、1脚作るのに111本のコーラを再利用しているということらしい。値段は$230です。

プレゼントかどうかなんて、実際分かんないけど、彼女曰く、「あなたの荷物のそばに置いてあったんだからプレゼントでしょう。」と。

Seattle

I just noticed I haven't uploaded this blog for almost two weeks.
I went to Seattle with my film camera OM-2 last weekend, and I just picked up prints today.
One of my dreams is to have my own darkroom. When I ask a photo shop to develop and print I always wish I could do those kind of things by myself.

Finally, done with school.
And 3 months freedom until school starts again.

For one of the final projects, I worked on making a zine, which was the first time for me. At first I was going to have some friends as contributors, but actually I only have my photos and some articles. Even, some articles are just about my feeling for studying here, not related with photos. lol

I wanna study more more more about this kind of field.

Umm, I was going to put all of the pages, but it's gonna be way too much.
So, I looked for a way to put a link jumping to somewhere I can put all of the PDF files.
But actually, I couldn't find it out.
So, 5 pages for this time. I will upload all of them after I find any way.

When I took this photo, I didn't expect I would like it this much. There is a proverb in Japanese; raw power includes luck, too. 運も実力の内。I think that kind of thing happens a lot when you take a picture.

Desktop Calender

Recently I found the way to organize your daily stuff effectively. I forgot where I found it though.
The thing is to make your desktop picture calender. And you just put your file you're working on at the date by which you have to finish. If you make it, you can just move it to your document file.

So, here I have 2 files on Tuesday 8th.

Exit From the Gift Shop

I just got back from Portland. The main purpose for this time's trip was to watch "Exit From the Gift Shop." Since I am taking 2 digital arts class, I fell in love with Banksy. However, the movie was just disappointing.

The trailer sounded really like it's gonna be a documentary movie about Banksy. Actually, it's true that the movie directed by Banksy, but it's about a guy called Terri. After Terri met with some street artists as a filmmaker, he became a street artist getting inspired by those artists. The movies is about pretty much about Terri. Actually, Terri is not a real artist but a good business man. You can see it in the movie.

The movie is interesting in terms of what a real artist is like. But definitely it's not worth of $10. If you have time, I recommend to borrow a DVD to watch it.

ブログの内容ですが・・・自分も他人も含めてアートワークの紹介。 主にDigital Drawingや写真が主になるかと。

今日は手始めに学校で作ったFlashを。テーマはなんでもいいからなにかデータをカウントしてそれをFlashにおこす。ただし、天気や気温などありふれたものではだめ。人が、自分が調べたことのないようなことについて調べる。

いきなりですが、私は青が一番好きです。洋服も青いものがたくさんあります。
そこで私は、どのくらいの青い服を持っているのかについて調べる事にしました。初めてFlashのワークだったのでコンテンツが多過ぎると、後から提出日に間に合わなくなるので、シンプルにトップス、ボトムス、シューズの３つに分けることにしました。
